What the hell?

Who was pitching through the first four innings?

March 17, 2011 at 11:15 PM | Unregistered CommenterSentinel

Michael Kirkman gave up 9 runs but only 4 were earned. I guess this means he is out of the running for rotation spot until further notice.

Nice two out exclamation point to CD's subtle "play me or trade me" request.

Can anyone report on how Kirkman looked.

Was he more a victim of the errors or did he just not have his stuff going for him?

How do you keep Julio at the expense of chris davis

Holy shit, we are up to 7 errors.

I feel for everyone on the team, especially those guys with errors.

And poor Borbon has 2, damn.

In other news Davis has a freaking GRAND SLAM.

Weird.....

Just FYI...7 unearned runs doesn't mean there were 7 errors by the Rangers. The first error of the game was by the Padre catcher. ST box scores can be very confusing unless you really pay attention.

Joe

Kirkman did not look good, but he was better than his numbers would indicate.
Borbon had a nightmare game .... had a routine fly ball and dropped it, Kirkman would have been out of the inning.
Hamilton looked bored.
Beltre showed his stuff at third base.
Strop and Davis looked good.
Davis hit a tough pitch inside, by Bell... that is a good sign.
Strop splitter was unhittable.
All our other pitchers looked average or bad.

I'm starting to jones for a Pedro Strop spot near the back of the bully. Feliz- #4 starter, Ogando closer, Strop gets the 8th inning. Something like that.

And for all those who are trying to do it, you cannot compare Borbon and Davis as if they are competing for a roster spot. They are not. Even if you move Josh into a regular CF role, you need a backup on the roster, and that's Borbon. Or it's Gentry or Endy Chavez. But it's a roster spot that will be taken up by a true CF.

Pull T,

I never thought there were 7 errors because there were 7 unearned runs. You are very strange for implying such.

Late in the game German and Borbon made errors, and I believe there were 5 errors by Rangers players before that. That makes 7 errors by Rangers players. I haven't seen the box score.

Scooby,

Can Murphy not backup CF? I know he's not a true CFielder... but didn't Wash play him there in the World Series?

You were wrong either way so whatever, chief...

AOL says that there were 7 errors. USA Today says 6. Yahoo says 7. ESPN says none.

Play Mitch in Left and Murphy as 4th OF. Platoon Davis and Napoli at 1b and use MY as the DH/Utility. send Borbon back to ASS to work it out.
