What is your opinion of the A.J. Pierzynski signing?
MJH on accountability
Why not Feliz to the rotation and Pedro Strop as closer? He did it all last year in the minors as has a filthy fastball
I'm open to this. His splitter and slider are both average or better ML pitches too. I see a ML closer in him eventually.
I really like this idea. Eventually. I think Pedro has to demonstrate some success at the major league level before anyone will commit to him as a closer for the big league club.
I hope Strop makes the team.He has strength, stamina, agility and aggressiveness (too much at times)No history of previous injuries, his pitches does not go straight, has great movement on all his pitches. Can he place his pitches and find the plate, that is the question about Strop. (...and many other young pitchers)
I think he can.
Tap the breaks here, people. Let him establish himself as a big leaguer before you hand him the high leverage innings.
@ badsplelr ... You mean like the nubile Feliz and Ogando?
The Rangers have surplus pitching to trade. Strop needs an opportunity in another organization.
@Hubz Both Ogando and Feliz had sustained success in low leverage situations before being promoted up the food chain. Strop has barely been able to stick thus far, much less move up.
At this point, the Rangers need to stay open to Feliz as a starter and Strop as a closer sometime this year. He probably shouldn't get the first opportunity, but he must be on the list. Don't trade him.
Yoo Hoo, this is Pedro Strop, knocking on the back door!
