Forum > Thanks harden for making Webb's plan.

Brandon Webb's plan seems to be goin well. Not rushing anything to get back at an early date. He feels good, looks good, good vibe... This time last year Rich Harden was coming off some injuries. He had a "normal" spring and was ruffed up during spring games. The rangers allowed him to push HIMself to get back to hopefully be there "ace". Bit them in the butt. If Webb provides anything to this Rangers season, lets tell Harden thanks.

He had a "normal" spring and was ruffed up during spring games.

The "normal" part is debatable. We were hearing major warning sirens from Keith Law on Harden's mechanics by March 10th or so.

I still can't believe we saw the meltdown that was Dick Harden last season.

Comparing Webb and Harden is apples and oranges. Harden only once pitched more than 148 innings ... and was never the talent that Webb was before his injury.

Harden wasn't recovering when TEX signed him ... he was brought in to be TEX' TORP even though he was CHC's #5 in 2009. In 2009 he pitched 141 innings ... although averaged just over 5.1 per start.

Webb should inspire far more confidence of a successful return before Harden who has already been shut down for upcoming weeks by OAK.

There's been a thousand arm injuries and a thousand different rehab programs....

So all of a sudden doing the "anti-Harden" is the gospel? Talk about obtuse idiocy...

Pull T,

Expecting rationality from fans is irrational in and of itself.

Here is some "obtuse idiocy" : Webb is not going to pitch more than 10 innings this year (in the majors)

I'll take that action Steve. I know he hasn't looked great, but I trust Mike Maddux (aka The Dirty Pirate.) I know the video you are referring to when you have said he is wincing in pain. I think Mike can help clean his mechanics up. That is what the long toss was supposed to help. Hopefully he can take some torque off the shoulder and shift it to the core.

We will find out when the season ends, I really hope you are right.
He was fun to watch back in his glory days.
I do have a friendly wager idea.
The loser can not post on here during the World Series, and he would have to make a small announcement on here before the first game.
Something like: See you guys after the WS, I lost a bet, so I won't be able to post on here for a while.
Of course, I would not blame you if you think this is silly :)

Steve,

You got it. I admit I see my Rangers through my rose colored glasses, so i could easily be wrong. I will say that if I lose and the Rangers make the WS, I will break our agreement.

lol, if the Rangers make it to the WS and I win, I would not mind you breaking our agreement.
Hopefully I will lose by May or June, Webb would be a shot in the arm for the rotation.

March 23, things don't look good for Webb, hopefully only a temporary set back.
To be honest, I never really thought that he was going to make it, so this is not a suprise for me.
We will be very lucky to get anything out of this guy, and any chance to do so are looking even sleemer today.
