I'll set up a donation bucket in hopes of the BBTIA community rallying around me and paying for me to go. I'm willing to report back every hour on the hour. Also, please let me know if I need to come up with a sob story to increase donations.

If you have never been, I can not stress how much fun it is. I have been around baseball my entire life, and seen plenty of games, but spring training is just different. The atmosphere is so much more laid back and fun. You can see all of the players much more closely than you would otherwise. Seriously one of my favorite yearly traditions.

I would kill to go. I got married in May, and have my first kid on the way. My wife would laugh if I even tried.

Totally understandable. I have no such obligations yet. Congratulations on the marriage and upcoming child. Got his/her position on the diamond picked out yet?

I'm hoping for 3b, it runs in my family. I'll be happy with a kid who just enjoys the sport though. And if it's a girl, I'll have to invest in some fast pitch softball gear.

I actually got in to an argument last night with my gf I've been dating for years now. She said she wouldn't let her daughters play softball because it is too masculine. I think that is ridiculous. I actually enjoy watching good softball. And anything is better than having to watch soccer or basketball all the time.
LFloyd
I don't mind soccer, but I can't stand basketball. Mostly because I'm terrible at it.

I'll be heading ou there in late March. Planning on checking out the new Salt River stadium for the game against the Rockies.

I will be out there the week of Saint Patrick's. St Paddy's in Phoenix is becoming a bit of a tradition with me.

I'm going for Spring Break but with my recent bout with arrhythmias I won't be able to booze and cruise a lot

I am going out for spring break too. And what is the name if the Irish bar that has the awesome St. Paddy's day celebration? It is right across from buffalo wild wings. I went a couple of times last year and had a good time.

My brother and I are heading out March 6-10 (Giants, Angels, and A's games!). Anyone have any suggestions for restaurants, bars, etc., or any places online to go to see? We're staying in Sun City, but driving all over...

My favorite restaurant out there is called Firebirds. I believe it is in Peroria. It is awesome. We have gone the last 2 years and it is amazing. Also one of the original PF Changs is out there I believe. It is always good.

I would recomend going to Tripadvisor.com. Ranks best hotels, restaurants, things to do based on customer reviews. Is usually pretty helpful and reliable.

Should set up a meeting at Maloney's after a SS against the Angles LOL....nm was great in 08 though

For your SF game, you will have tons of options because the area surrounding the Giants in Scottsdale is full of restaurants and shopping. Road trips in Scottsdale is one of the best in Cactus League play in my opinion.
Tre
I tried to get tickets to the SF game in Suprise but the only seats available were on the lawn. Instead I'm doing a doubleheader of Rangers vs Dodgers at surprise then I'm going to the new Salt River fields to see the D-Backs play.

Ok guys with spring training finally upon us I wanted to ask how many people are headed to AZ this year? Could have a BBTIA night at one of the bars out there.
