Forum > Omar Beltre is scheduled to have spine surgery next Tuesday

He has spinal stenosis, just like me! Oh wait, that's not a good thing...

That blows. I really liked Beltre's potential. He looked really tough to hit in his couple of starts with the big club last year, he just also struggled to find the plate, but if I remember right his minor league numbers didn't show that he was wild, so I chalked it up to nerves. Sounds unlikely, but I wish he could make a full recovery as he looked like a real sleeper to my amateur eyes.

Ugh. This blows. I liked his potential. Now he has to recover from something that doesn't normally afflict baseball players. I feel bad for him since he lost all those years in the DR and he may never recover the potential income he lost.

He probably has already made enough money to live like a king in the Dominican Republic. But it is too bad that this happened to someone that has already been through so much.
