What is your opinion of the A.J. Pierzynski signing?
MJH on accountability
According to MLB Trade Rumors, the Twins are open to trading him. We need pitching, they need another RHB. Make it happen.
If they really wanted MY and i was JD id be willing to give..MY25MillEngel BeltreMartin Perez
for Lirianoid throw in Sheppers if they send Thome
Kinsler for Liriano, they would never take Young as part of a package for him.
I would give them
Kinsler, Hunter, Hurley, and Strop
Why would you want to give up Kinsler?
Because he's in love with Michael Young. But seriously, if they would take Kinsler, Hunter, Sheppers, and spare parts for Liriano and Thome I would jump on that and give 2B back to Young.
You don't WANT to give up Kins, but he is a very valuable trade chip that can be used to acquire top talents.
I'm gving them Young/Borbon/Davis/Strop, not interested in Thome!
Young, Borbon, Davis, & Strop for Liriano with or without cash would be a steal for Texas.
"You don't WANT to give up Kins, but he is a very valuable trade chip that can be used to acquire top talents."
Thank you Fuller Tron. I think Philly is mentally challenged.
Bill Smith (Twins GM): Hello?
JD: Hey Bill, it's Jon Daniels. Rumor has it you are listening to offers for Francisco Liriano.
Bill Smith: Yeah sure what do you have for me?
JD: Well how about you take all of our spares and washouts for Liriano?
does anyone realize that Liriano is skiddish about throwing his slider/his out pitch?
We're not talking the same guy as a couple of years ago, before his arm blew out.
Does anyone realize that Liriano threw his slider 19% of the time in 2010, more than he threw it in '08 & '09 combined (7.2 & 8.2%)?
It's the internet Fortune Cookie Writer HubZ, you can look this stuff up. And it's skittish, as in a horse being nervous.
Maybe I should have been specific: Liriano is still trying to trust his fastball.Sliders thrown: Rookie Year-2006 @38%.. 2009 @27%(bad yr)...2010 @34%.IF he's spouted as their top guy, why the hesitation from the Twins? Oh yeah, they're about as secure in Liriano's arm holding up, as His own brain is. Still, not the Pitcher we all remember, though not dogmeat.
Oops, I apologize. I was looking in the Pitch Value category. Stoopid work interfering.
Has anyone ever blown out their elbow again after Tommy John surgery that you know of?
Just wondering if you know anything about the history there.
I don't think those numbers show anything especially since hes back up to 34% in 2010?
Jose Rigio has had tommy john surguery five times
Maybe this will help u out Joe
I'm mentally challenged because you want to give up Kinsler for Liriano?
That makes sense.
Thats not worth it. I wouldn't consider him top of the line.
Unless you like being almost good.
Which it sounds like you do.
I'm just glad I have a life.
Now that I've thought about it more you might be right Philly, that even if they took Kinsler for Liriano straight up that might not make us that much better.
My comments were more directed at you for saying "why would you want to give up Kinsler." Obviously, no one WANTS to give up Kinsler, but its reasonable to think about trading him for good pitching especially because we have MY who can play 2nd.
Kinsler for Liriano would be a stupid trade for the Rangers imho. And there is now way they take on MY unless Texas pays significant $$$ AND throws in a prospect.
I'd pay $35m of Young's contract and give them a significant prospect for that. Young, Scheppers, $35m for Liriano? Hell yes.
I might pay the entire $48m if they'd take Young and a lesser prospect (Erlin?) for Liriano
@Joe~ there are far too many to list on TJ Surgery rebounds, taakes andblowouts. . Many have had several. Yes, Liriano did improve after that abysmal 2009, but he's was tentative. If there was ever a Pitcher that JD would take a chance on(as Webb)... it's got to be Liriano. 2011 ought to show more of his mind over matter attitude he needs. Trusting 'the new feel' is tough. The window's open... Daniels really needs to take, at minimum, a big peek inside.
