Forum > Can I get That with a Side of Vlad Please??

So here it goes…I have been thinking about the HUGE signing that the rangers just completed in Adrain Beltre…I mean the Guy can hit a home run and propose to marriage at the same time if he wanted to with his one kneed swings. There has been one thing that has been bothering me though. I can’t help but think how much keeping Michael young on the team hurts us…not because of his bat but just the fact that he will be the DH for most of the time. I can’t help but think if there was any way that we could have a Vlad and Mike Young in the line up at the same time we would be awesome!. I don’t know maybe i’m just dreaming, but if we could put Mike at an outfield spot or even a full time utility man and if we can have all of these guys in the lineup WITH VLAD! Just Imagine a Lineup …

Ian Kinsler 2B
Mike Young LF
Adrian Beltre 3B
Josh Hamilton CF..I Know but just stick with me
Vlad DH
Nelson Cruz RF
Mitch Moreland 1b
Yorvit Torrealba C
Elvis Andrus SS

Holy crap what a Saw could you Imagine a pitcher trying to weave his way in and out of this lineup. If we can get Vlad Cheap and we could rest some infiled starters with a Gold Glove winner in Mike Young filling in and Murphy or Borbon taking his spot in the Outfield…And BAM AL West Champions and with some good fortune and luck(and Pitching) maybe a Championship.I don’t know maybe I’m just a Delirious fan from Texas but just tell me what you think.

Murphy and Borbon wouldn't get much time it seems. Maybe if we traded one or both of them. Also, our defense would suffer considerably with putting MY in left and no Borbon in CF. My gut reaction is this is not really possible without a mager reshuffling of the deck. But I suppose such a reshuffling is not completley out of the question in the event of a major trade.

Maybe move Young to LF next year when he's comfortable at DH?

Also... Tateyama for #5 starter.

Yes ..I understand that this would be difficult...But I hate for a bat like Vlad's just to walk away.

Which "bat" of Vlad's are you talking about - the one that was the MVP of the first half, or the one that looked 50 years old in the 2nd?

The other thing is, why is everyone so down on Murphy? All he does is play hard, get timely hits, throw out runners on the bases, and do it all with a smile on his face. If he got 500 AB, I bet he would have better numbers than Vlad in 2011.

Hey...WWJD I know what you mean..But if you look at the work he did for us and the overall year...I mean he was one of the leaders in RBI's.But if we can get him Cheap..don't you think that's a good idea.???"

Sorry Scooby, thought it was you joking around here and in the other forum on the 25th roster spot. Would like your thoughts over there if you are interested.

Murphy's bat is better than Young's, and probably Vlad's. Thome's is a world better than either.

I also tire of Murphy being so underated. He's a class act and a great bat, I hope he gets his at bats in 2011.
