Forum > Just a thought....

I was thinking about who would be the next Ace on the market after Cliff Lee signed and Zack Greinki was traded and a thought came to my mind. Should the Angels start to re-build?
It was weird thinking about it because im so used to them dominating this division but they are kind of getting old with Hunter, Rivera, Abreau Not being able to get Crawford kills them so does not being able to fill that black whole at third with Beltre , they also dont have a shut down closer like they used to with k rod , no more dominant bullpen, Weaver is a bright spot but hes a Boras client and the angels dont like negotiating with Boras so they might lose him to FA in a few years Plus Texas is the best team in the division rite now and Oakland is making huge leaps with that awsome young rotation.
Well finaly i came to a few final thots...
Could Texas trade for Weaver if the Angels decide to rebuild?
Would the Angels trade within the division like Sea did?
What would it take to get Weaver from the Angels?
and finaly dam i cant wait till the season starts to i can stop thinking about the offseason

They will not have to rebuild considering that in two years they will only have 23 million dollars locked into their payroll.

Looks like they are moving that way already. They weren't very aggressive this offseason, were they?

Hey no Offense ...But if your gonna be posting stuff on a ESPN supported web site...USE SPELL CHECK. I did however enjoy your story and in fact do think it is time for the Angles to rebuild.

Before you criticize people about spell check, CHECK YOURSELF! You misspelled Angels up above. It doesn't matter if this is ESPN supported or not. The Forum is basically a glorified chat room. This type of discourse community is that does not adhere to strict rules of grammar and spelling. Look, I work in academia so believe me, I care vehemently about grammar and spelling, but not in chat rooms or comment sections on blogs.

is one that* --another prime example, typing so fast, forgot a word. Again, a common occurrence in chat rooms.

LAA isn't going to let us - their biggest competition - take their best pitcher from them, just because they are in a rebuilding stage. They are already pissed at what we did to them last year when we got Vlad.

While I believe the Angels are rebuilding, they wouldn't trade a stud pitcher in the division unless their season was meaningless and the pitcher was going to be a FA or unless they were blown away by our offer. They would have to feel like they were getting way above "fair" value for him. With the money and young talent they have the Angels won't be rebuilding long.

Is there anything worse than the grammar cop that can't spell himself?

January 8, 2011 at 12:41 PM | Unregistered CommenterWSGJ

Martin, I have the exact same problem. I hate typing on these things but it is so much easier than getting my computer every time I want to stop by good ole BBTIA.
