Check out this ESPN gamer article about the MLB 11: The Show...

It'll be interesting to try some of the new controls... I've been playing this series for a while now and it's by far the best baseball game I've ever played -- this and Madden are really the only two games I play. I basically rotate during winter and summer on which one I play and I don't nearly play as much as I used to... being an adult sucks, can I go back to college?

Anyone else love this game?

I wouldn't know, I have an xBox. I have to suffer through that other game. 2k sucks.

Personally I miss the All-Star Baseball series that started on the N64 and continued on to the Gamecube and other platforms. My favorite feature was the option to create an expansion franchise and choose one of several new stadiums to play in. I plan on getting a PS3 with my income tax return and I bet I invest in the baseball franchise.

I haven't played the Madden series in several years. My favorite feature was the franchise mode where I could continue a team over several seasons and draft new players and all that. Recently though, it seems most of the focus is on the actual gameplay and the franchise mode has gone downhill. That isn't a complaint, necessarily, as that's what most people want is great gameplay, but I guess I'm more into the management of the team. Maybe that's why I like fantasy sports so much.

I played MVP Baseball 2003, 2004 and 2005, which I thought were the best baseball games ever made gameplay wise. The Show has been great, because it took a ton from MVP to make it so. I owned 08 and 09 but never got around to getting 10 due to funds and the fact that they really weren't making any real improvements. This looks like a must buy though.

I rather get mlb 2k11 just so that I can try to win a million dollar by being the first to pitch a perfect game. You must show video proof by submitting by April 1st.

Someone last year use Kenshin Kawakami to pitch a perfect game. He threw exclusive off-speed pitches and kept most of the pitches away.

Does it still count if u use more than one pitcher?

Unfortunately no...at least according to last year rules.
"Using the MLB Today feature in the game, which matches the starting pitchers and starting lineups for that day's game in real life, take your starter through all 27 opposing batters without any of them reaching base. Film it - according to a strict list of qualifiers so 2K knows it hasn't been faked - and send it in, and someone might show up on your lawn with a crazy-sized check for a crazy-sized amount."
This year rules(not announced yet) can be found here:

Anyone know when the Phillies play San Diego either at home or at SD? lol....
I guess it would be cool if someone use Rangers pitcher to pitch a perfect game in 2k11; most likely against Mariners.

@Marktown:
Both Madden and MLB The Show are decent for Franchise modes. I actually prefer to play both in Franchise mode. That way you can control your team and do all the signings, trades, drafts, etc and still play when you want, or sim if you don't want to play all 162 games (or 16 games). It's the sports nerd in me, but I almost enjoy running the team more than playing the game and I feel that both games have made improvements to their Franchise modes over the years.

If you haven't played MLB The Show because you don't have a PS3 -- do a quick google search and you can find comparisons of the graphics, game modes -- (not sure if the other games have a "Road to The Show" type mode, where you create a player and work your way up through the minors to become a big leaguer) -- glitches, etc. and almost everyone agrees that The Show is the best baseball game out there.

I'm not saying it's the best game ever and all other baseball games don't come close, but from what I've played, seen and read -- it's by far my favorite and I can't wait to play this year's version.

2k11 will have another deal where the first person to throw a perfect game gets $1mm.
