Forum > Rangers Reach Agreement with Adrian Beltre?
Exact quote from the official (?) Adrian Beltre Facebook page: "Adrian Beltre It's official! I have made my decision to sign with the Texas Rangers for 6 years 96 million. Also to all my fans who keep asking! I will change my icon SOON."

Why would he post this when theres no press release on any website? This is not his facebook page.

I don't think anyone is really taking the page seriously. Speculation is fun though.

IMO the Rangers wouldn't do this deal without talking to MY about his role going forward. If, and that is a big if, this is true I would assume that MY is on board with being a DH/Utility type guy. If that is the case then I applaud the Rangers. (As long as the 6th year is either a team option or dependent upon nearly impossible to reach vesting options.)

At the end of the day, I think everyone would love this deal if MY agrees to be the super utility/ DH player every team would covet. Although I wouldn't be against trading MY, I would love to see him finish his career in Texas knowing full well he gave everything: position, role, stats, pride...for the good of the team.

Here is MLBTR with an update that says "a deal is imminent". This has been interesting so far, but I am still quite skeptical.

why do you idiots care how much they paid the guy? its not your freakin money
michael
I'm not sure why caring about money in a contract makes anyone an idiot, but, people care because the more that is spent on Beltre limits what the franchise can do in every other aspect. It's really pretty simple why people care. Do you want the Rangers spending 200 million on Beltre?

Guess who finally came up with a new screen name?
This is not at all what I expected from this offseason but I am beginning to think it might work.
