I'm trying to remember if it was Colon or Sidney Ponson that John Hart lusted after for years. I think it was Ponson.

I'm assuming they're interested in Ponson solely as Triple-A pitching depth, but it's one of those kinds of deals where if Ponson pitches anything remotely resembling a substantial number of innings for Texas in 2011, you can be pretty sure the season has gone horribly wrong.

What's horribly wrong is that we're even linked to him at this point ... and that someone, somewhere within the organization considers him viable "depth" ...

Colon is no exclamation Point!!! I'm afraid what we might get is a Semi-Colon: !!! What are we starting, an old folks home for pitchers? Oliver, Colon and Rhodes. 'Morticians to the Stars.' Is doing well in the Dominican Winter League now a stepping stone to MLB? Maybe they start him at AAA to see how things go.

So, what exactly is wrong with picking up a former Cy Young award winner and putting him the minors? I mean, you guys act like the rangers are planning for Colon to front the rotation. You could do worse than have a rejuvenated Colon sitting in the minors waiting for a spot start. Anyone that contributes to pitching depth with a potential for a decent reward is worth a look at in my opinion. This is an example of what I love most about the rangers front office. They leave no stone unturned.
