Forum > What to make of this?
I am more interested in knowing wtf the "Angels are good for the long run" comment is all about. According to whom, I ask?
Tre
I think it would have made more sense to put "Rangers are good for now, but they are each good for the long run"... in fact I would say we are better set for the long run, as long as we hold onto our chips and not do what 90% of the people around baseball expect us to do which is to spend them like they are $1 bills at a strip club
btw, it sounds fishy to me, almost like he is trying to force the Angels to up their offer a bit more by making them think we are in on him hard

Just say 'no' to Adrian Beltre.

Posturing.

The other mike is smart...
Let Beltre get lazy and fat off of LA's dime....he's had two good years out of a dozen...both when he's looking to get paid. Plus his supposed Brooks Robinson-esque defense is vastly overrated.
Pull T
out of the option? try out of the question or not an option. And he doesn't want anyone touching his head?
I think two Beltre's in the organization is plenty.

Dude, Beltre has had two contract years, last year and 2004. Every other year he's been lazy. Pass.

Let the Halos have that contract.
Scooby Dude
Just called Adrian Beltre to remind him the Rangers already have a third baseman. What a dumbass.

Hmmm....Angels might be offering more years (long run) ... Rangers might be offering a year or two (good for now) and slightly more money per year. Really do not want him.

Beltre has only had to amazing years, but its not like he was a scrub the rest of the time. He plays great defense and will hit 30+ homers in Arlington. I don't see what's not to like.

So Adrian Beltre's facebook page says, "Angels or Rangers? A`s are out of the option. Gonna have to discuss this with my family. Rangers sound good for right now but the Angels are good for the long run. Hard decision!"
Is this to be trusted. Are we really still in the running despite the front office saying their more interested in a 1B plantoon?
