I never thought he'd win since it's the sanctimonious BBWAA who cast the ballots. Three writers left him off the ballot completely...a very obvious repudiation of Ron's drug use.

I don't have a problem with the choice. Ron Gardenhire helmed a very good team in a tougher division while dealing with numerous injury problems of his own.

That isn't to say I would have been against Washington winning it. I guess all I'm saying is that either one could have won and I would have been largely indifferent about the outcome either way.
