Forum > Josh Lewin is going to...

the radio. He's going to host his own show on 105.3 the Fan.

Wow!! What's more shocking... another lineup change at The Fan, or such a LONG FALL for Lewin? He goes from a great play-by-play gig in the 5th largest TV market in the country to hosting a mid-day sports talk show on a third-rate station that nobody listens to.

That's just about the last thing I would have guessed. Maybe he can really get into that, and the Ticket can poach him when Norm retires.

At least he will still be in the metroplex and will still be talking Rangers baseball!

Hm, still surprised by people who think that Lewin was good. I am overjoyed that he is not in the Rangers booth anymore. And I do think he will lend some baseball talk to the radio. The Fan is my preferred of the three stations these days. we'll see what he can do.

You can't follow up a bashing of Lewin with the statement that The Fan is better than The Ticket and ESPN radio... The Fan is complete garbage. ESPN talks more sports than The Ticket, but as far as sports radio goes, The Ticket is unmatched--by far the best in the area and probably one of the best in the country.

The Ticket is unlistenable. How can you listen for longer than 30 minutes with all that damn static?

Is it really a LONG FALL for Lewin? Is he no longer going to be the FOX #2 and the voice of the Chargers?

The other part of the addition of Josh Lewin to The Fan, is Grego is now in direct competition with the hardline. Unless you live in the Dallas area you can't pick up the ticket. I lived in Dallas for 20+ years & can remember in detail when the little ticket started up. Now it's an after though because I live 50 miles from Dallas & can't pick it up except in spots while driving. Bruce Gilbert, one of the people instrumental in the Ticket's structure, is the person over at the fan. CBS radio has a lot of money. I understand the Rangers broadcast rights expire after this season. It should make for interesting radio drama the next 6-12 months.

I have to agree with everyone else...the Fan is a complete joke. He deserves better.
