Forum > Rangers Set Their ALCS Rotation
Are they going to put Lee in the bullpen for a possible game 7?
By the way, I'm going to that game so please let me know if you get tickets. Friends of Pryor get free beer all game long.

The Yankee's rotation is now set.
Game 1: CC Sabathia (1-0, 1.50 ERA, 9 K, 0 BB vs. Texas)
Game 2: Phil Hughes (1.0 IP, 0 ER, 1 K, 0 BB vs. Texas)
Game 3: Andy Pettitte (1-0, 2.25 ERA, 4 K, 3 BB vs. Texas)
Game 4: AJ Burnett (1-0, 2.50 ERA, 17 K, 7 BB vs. Texas)

Why wouldn't Lee pitch a possible game 7???? He'll pitch on the 18th, game 6 is on the 22nd. He could pitch game 6 on 3 days rest in necessary I imagine, but given the philosophy so far, he could pitch game 7 on the 23rd on regular rest... so no he wouldn't be in the bullpen at all.
Drew
Hunter. Ugh.
Tommy Hunter just should not be making post-season starts. The guy got a ridiculously lucky strand rate, BABIP, and run support combination in his June/July starts, leading to ridiculously misleading traditional stats. That luck has been regressing back to the mean very quickly lately. He won't make it through 5 innings in NY. No chance.

Drew is correct. Lee would be lined up for game 3 and 7, and could possibly pitch in relief for game 1.

I don't mind giving Tommy a run out in Game 4, but i'd at least consider using Holland. At the least, if his stuff isn't good for 2 innings, hook him and go get the Dutch Oven. Or even Kirkman for a longer spell, if he replaces German or Nippert on the roster.

Game 1: CJ Wilson (0-1, 5.65 ERA, 15 K, 8 BB vs. Yankees)
Game 2: Colby Lewis (Did not pitch against the Yankees this year)
Game 3: Cliff Lee (2-0, 3.09 ERA, 18 K, 4 BB vs. Yankees)
Game 4: Tommy Hunter (5.0 IP, 3.60 ERA, 8 K, 3 BB vs. Yankees)
I would rather see Holland in Game 4 than Hunter, but with AJ Burnett on the mound for the Yanks it could be a shootout either way.
