I actually feel sorry for Arias. Good luck to him.

Does anyone think another team will claim him?

I don't feel sorry for him. He got more and longer opportunities than he really deserved and he did nothing.

I think the team mishandled Arias from the start. He is a good hitter and has good speed. He needed to be coached in how to play the game (defense and baserunning). He could've been a really good super utility guy who played all the infield and all the outfield positions. I bet he eventually lands somewhere like Atlanta and has a productive career. Fernando Tatis is still kicking around the league...

JB, you don't think they tried to coach him? That's a strange assumption. He'd be a lot more useful if his arm strength hadn't gone away after the shoulder injury.

t-ball,
Are you sure the team tried hard enough? I just don't think he was coached EFFECTIVELY after his arm injury. He needed to become something different and it seems the team didn't recognize how to use him. I could be wrong, but I see something in him that makes me think he will eventually be a much better utility guy than Blanco, Guzman or Cora.

What do you mean by "needed to become something different?"

"Something different" means after his arm injury he was no longer a viable starting SS option and needed to become a utility guy.
