Gorecki's Symphony No. 3 (excerpt). The text is Polish, a prayer to the Virgin Mary found scribbled on the walls of a Gestapo prison, signed by Helena Blazusiakowna, 18, imprisoned since 26 Sept. 1944.
No, Mother, do not weep,
Most chaste Queen of Heaven

The trip hop group Lamb sampled some of this work for their hit "Gorecki". I don't know how the band meant the song to be perceived, and though I like it, I sometimes think it's a crass trivialization of the source material.

I don't exactly know what that Gorecki song is, but I like it. Of course, I like a lot of the electronic/house sound.

I'm a little tired and over-served right now, but this is the song that introduced me to whole other type of music. Amazing song.
VU may take a little more time and openness to different things to get used to, but when one fully appreciates their music, very few others compare to their awesomeness.

Friend sent me this song by an short-lived early-00s hip-hop group called Binary Star. Song is called "Reality Check" and it's awesome and yes I like it:

I've been listening to this band called Anamanaguchi. They do 8-bit songs on a hacked NES.

Pinkerton and The Blue Album were both great, but I couldn't handle them past that. Check out The Whigs.

Damian Marley and Robert Earl Keen are the staples of my collection. I have no patience for House Music, unless I'm laughing my ass off at The Situation showing his abs.
Scooby Dude
Well, there's good house music (like St. Germain), and then there's the crap you'd usually hear in the club while taking X, which sounds more like what you'd hear on Jersey Shore.

Pick an urban/swing jazz station and I'm content.
Hows that for the hip-hop crowd?

Kanye performed on SNL, and he was really good. This is coming from someone who isn't a huge fan. He was really awesome.

Type OTTMAR LIEBERT into Pandora
...very very fine Latin Jazz (nuevo flamenco) guitar work. Twenty percent is very good...the rest is transcendent. What 60 year old hippies are into.

St. Germain - What's New
House music is the best music. Discuss.
