Forum > Alex Cora - The Savior of the Rangers

If were counting on a utility infielder to be our savior maybe our expectations are a little high. But I would agree that Arias should not still be on this team, and depending on how long Kinsler will continue to be out I don't think Blanco can produce with the bat so having a guy like Cora would be nice (not to mention that Kinsler is fragile)

What ever he does with his bat is a bonus ... if he can bring a competent approach with his glove and his "baseball smarts", he's an upgrade over everyone else, this side of Kinsler ... it's just a heck of a time for key players to start going down with "nagging" injuries

Great another light hitting infielder just what the doctor ordered.

I never realized until now that Gil had one 104-game season with a 109 OPS+. He's also a lifetime 8-for-13 hitter in the post-season, having amassed all those ABs with Anaheim during their 2002 run to the WS title.

I think at the very least Cora has better intincts on defense than Arias. I don't know that he's got anything more that Blanco (other than experience).
